Ideas – 100 Word Challenge – Week #23

Long ago there was darkness, and from that darkness came billions of tiny lights, and in each light was an idea.  Some were beautiful and fantastic others were sad and horrible.  One had two pirate ships battling, there were coins and cannon balls flying everywhere as they were both sinking each other.  Another had a war filled with red and despair.  Some had ideas that were just fantasy like dragons and unicorns and mermaids living together in peace.  Many had beauty over masking sadness and destruction. Some had pavement cities stirring in the night, there lights and activity covering the pollution and the homeless going uncared for in the night. One, shining bright white, had a ladder going anywhere you wish to be. This one is everywhere in our everyday lives calling always.

NOTE: This post was chosen for the Showcase page on the 100 Word Challenge.  Artist Terry Calkin also drew this awesome cartoon to go with my story.
